Porthmeor is Saint Ives' largest beach attracting families and surfers alike. Due to its Westerly facing it is very popular with surfers and body boarders and has a surf school operating all season with qualified instructors. Boards and wetsuits for hire in peak season. Surfboard area marked with orange buoys, generally safe bathing: check with lifeguards. Restaurant and cafe facilities on the beach. Scenic cliff walk to Clodgy Point. |

Porthminster is the family beach. Retaining the 1930's feel, the beach has a putting green, and chalets and is well protected by the town and piers. A half-mile of golden sands with calm sea conditions. Very safe for bathing, sheltered from most winds. Superb Restaurant and Cafe facilities on the beach. Scenic cliff walk to Carbis Bay. |

The
Harbour Beach is increasingly popular and is just seconds from the town
centre. Very sheltered, with sandy areas in the harbour. A perfect
sun-trap in the heart of St Ives. Cheriton House holiday flat is less
than 50 yards from the Harbour.

Porthgwidden is a much smaller beach, nestling between 'the Island' and the old pier. Usually the quietest beach in the town it is ideal for those seeking a little peace and quiet. Delightful sun-trap, with safe bathing. Cafe facilities on the beach. |
